Services for U.S. Institutions

The Educational Information Service (EIS) of Fulbright Japan (Japan-U.S. Educational Commission) is a the State Department affiliated overseas advising centers. EIS provides the following services for U.S. institutions to promote educational exchanges:


Briefing on current trends of Japanese students

EIS provides a briefing on current trends of Japanese prospective students who are seeking study opportunities at U.S. institutions or who are currently studying at U.S. institutions. The briefing, including Q&A is approximately one hour and is offered Monday through Friday between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm by appointment. Please e-mail EIS eas@fulbright.jp to make an appointment during your visit to Japan.


U.S. University Expo

Fulbright Japan supports the U.S. University Expo organized by the U.S. Embassy in Japan. The Expo is an opportunity for U.S. institutions to provide information to prospective students. Visitors Seminars/Special Sessions

EIS is able to arrange a visitor seminar for groups of individuals representing between three and six accredited institutions. Please refer to the following web site, and see the Visitors Seminar Guidelines (PDF) for more details.
We also welcome individuals (or groups) to give presentations on specific topics regarding higher education in the U.S. Please see the Special Sessions Guidelines (PDF) for more details.
EIS can arrange seminars in the Fulbright Japan meeting room which has a capacity of 50.


Announcement of Information Sessions

EIS will announce information sessions individually organized by institutions via the EIS Web site http://www.fulbright.jp/study/schedule/event.html and/or post a flyer on the bulletin board at our reference center. EIS cannot, however, assist with arranging such sessions.

This site has been established as a clearinghouse for Japanese and American colleges and universities interested in establishing academic linkages.

Fulbright International Education Administrator (IEA) Program

The program is designed to introduce participants to the society, culture and higher education systems of Japan through campus visits, meetings with Japanese colleagues and government officials, attendance at cultural events and briefings on education.
